LETAME FESTIVAL "The food of the earth and solidarity"
ORGANIC FARMING - BIODYNAMIC FARMING
ORGANIC REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE
BIODIVERSITY - SOIL FERTILITY
MANURE CONTEST
50 YEARS OF SOLIDARITY WITH CEFA
MANURE RAFFLE
AND MANY OTHER ACTIVITIES
"He who has manure has money. The farmer who has manure has no debt. Manure is the gold of the earth": these are the words spoken by Fabio Brescacin, president of NaturaSì, speaking at one of the past editions of the "Manure Festival: the Food of the Earth and Solidarity," a must-attend event for all those who believe in an agriculture that nourishes the earth, to feed the planet. Indeed, manure (from the Latin laetamen, a derivative of laetare "to fertilize," which in turn derives from laetus "happy," originally "fertile") represents a fundamental resource in organic and biodynamic farming, to guarantee and restore - in a completely natural way - soil fertility and vitality, indispensable prerequisites for product quality. It is no coincidence, then, that the Festival attracts so many people every year who flock to the Modenese Apennines, to a Bio & Slow territory dedicated to the organic Parmigiano Reggiano supply chain and biodiversity ("let's save the white Modenese cow Slow Food presidium"), in an atmosphere of celebration - with live music and dancing in the farmyard - and awareness of the importance of quality nourishment for humans starting with quality nourishment for the Earth.

CRUDITER
Cruditer, farm soil tasting experiments
Many initiatives will enliven the days from July 20 to 23: from practical-scientific meetings to contests, to heap preparation and farm tours, passing through the manure raffle. Prominent in particular, on July 20 and 21, is "Cruditer": a series of practical-scientific meetings in the field to assess the health of the soil, promoted by HUMUS network and Santa Rita Bio Dairy Social 1964. Among the first farm soil tasting experiments proposed to citizens,
Cruditer includes a sensory analysis to learn about the vital soul of farmland, that is, its biological fertility (and to identify where it has been lost), and to recognize the importance of a living soil for the planet's ecosystems, food production and our health. "The earth is alive and can be recognized by sight, touch, smell and taste!!! Citizens recognize and taste the land of different Organic Farms in the Apennine Mountains of Modena." Participants will be guided by technical experts in the visual, tactile and organoleptic evaluation of soil samples taken at Organic Farms in the Appennino Modenese, dedicated to raising cattle for the production of Organic Parmigiano Reggiano. A special excursion, animated by one's senses, along the underground paths of organic agricultural production. In conjunction with the soil, with the same methodology we will deepen our knowledge of manure, evaluating samples delivered by Organic/Biodynamic Farms from all over Italy.

Tazzioli Concertino - from 5 p.m. Sunday evening
The Tazzioli Concertino was born out of a great and ancient musical passion that dates back to the 19th century. Composed today by the descendants of the players who founded it, the concertino still features the instruments of the musical tradition of the upper Apennines of Modena: two violins, two guitars and a double bass, sometimes joined by a viola and a mandolin. Many of these instruments, now as then, are made in the family, handing down the techniques and secrets of violin making. The Concertino keeps alive the ancient melodies written by the Tazzioli family's ancestors. Waltzes, mazurkas, polkas, manfronts and ballets that made generations of mountaineers dance, rediscovered thanks to research work that began in the 1970s and continues today. The Tazzioli concertino is passion for music, for the arts passed down through generations, for the rediscovery of one's cultural and family roots.-
